Description

The leaves on the trees were just beginning to turn to the burning reds and oranges of autumn. A cool breeze swept through the branches and across the still water of the quiet, secluded lake. A loud splash shattered the peaceful atmosphere as a large rock plunged into the water. A young man that lay in the grass just beyond the shoreline was jolted from his state of tranquility. His eyes flew open and he quickly sat up. He turned his head to see a familiar person walking towards him.

People have already told me that I've "never written more beautifully" and that this is "quite unrealistic". Personally, I don't think that it's exactly my best work... Eh, it's really just something I wrote for school, anyway. so it doesn't matter. I'd like to know what you all think of it, though, and how you think it ended.
