BIO
Short Bio: Fantasy Artist Uwe Jarling was born in 1968. After graduating with a diploma degree in graphic design 1991 he worked as a illustrator and graphic designer further on. His first works were countless covers for videos, books, ... and many technical and architectural illustrations for advertising agencies. An important step in his further development followed in 2000 where he started to develop his "Fantasy Artwork" more seriously and did his first attempts creating his art on a computer. Since 2003 almost all of his work is painted digitally for clients all over the world mainly in the Fantasy Art genre. Uwe lives and works in a little village in the south of Germany. Tools used: Fantasy Artist Uwe Jarling is a traditional artist using traditional media like oils, watercolors and mainly gouache, but the last years he did the step into creating his art digital. The last 3 years 98% of his images are created using digital tools. Uwe experimented with several digital tools 3d as well as 2d. For 3d he experimented with 3d max, Poser, Vue, Bryce and more nice 3d applications, but as it doesnt fit him too well he decided to work mainly using 2d digital tools. For his 2d digital images Uwe uses mainly the software Painter, currently version 9, so most of his paintings are now done with Painter. For color corrections of his images or several effects Uwe uses Photoshop. All his latest images are done using Painter 9 and some Painter 9 and Photoshop CS in combination. Uwe currently paints on a Macintosh G5 using a pressure sensitive Wacom tablet.
Uwe was voted for Januarys 2006 Renderosity Artist of the Month. Read the AOM interview here:

A very intriguing cover. Wonderful character faces, composition, colors, and now I'm wondering what's going to happen to that pig? As always, your art is compelling and thought provoking. :o) CC

Is that the one where the pig was on trial for witchcraft and the rats were supposed to testify? I heard that was a cool movie, and your characters look great! What wonderful portraits you do!

It still amazes me how you didn't get nominated for AOM, you deserved to be there because your artwork is brilliant in every sense. So no, thank YOU for sharing all your wonderful pieces of art that you make! :))
andymoraitis
The measure of being a great artist is the ability to present a wide variety of themes in a wide variety of media and this is something you excel at. I second Mel in saying that I'm disappointed that you weren't nominated as the best 2D/Mixed Media artist was obviously passed over. Thanks for sharing your work and inspiring us all Uwe.

hi all :-) ---- now let me tell you that i am really totally flattered by all the fantastic comments you gave me since i joined rosity - i dont know how to thank you - cause you all have no idea what it meant and still means to me - i really stopped doing my art, and you all are the reason why i go on doing what i do, you gave me the power to get back to art - thanks for that - now to the comments comming from my dear friends drmzRmyne and andymoraitis - wow - sure it would be a great honor for me to be nominated for such a thing like the aom - but - you know i am a professional illustrator, means i get already paid for paintings i do - much to less, sure -, lol, but what i want to say is, the goal of the aom or things like that should be, to help artists which are not already known, or not already have clients to get clients, if thats their goal - dont know if thats rositys goal or if that would work in rosity, thats just how i see that - so to nominate me, or people like me which are alredy known by clients would be sure cool for us, so we maybe got more known and seen by eventually clients - but would that be fair??? i think not - cause there are so many talented people in here, their work is as good or even better than the so called professionals work, so i think they deserve it more to get such nominations --- just my opnion, dont know if this makes sense, but thats what i think --- but hey, that does not mean that i would not do a kind of a raindance if such a thing happens to me someday ;-) --- now again, a big THANK YOU to all of you who like what i do, you are the best --- now lets have fun doing our art ---

Well first the image. As always an awesome study and your portrayals are nothing short of amazing and as always, I love your sense of painted collage to tell the story. As to the AOM, I was equally surprised that you weren't nominated as well, but I am quite glad you share your work with us as you also inspire us.
