Description

Suprisingly, this is not all that rare. Dogfish, (3 or 4 foot mini-sharks) often drive schools of bait fish to the surface. Since seagulls can't dive, this is a great feast fot them, and the water surface will literally be white with gulls. Anything hanging down with the fish is fair game, and the dogfish teeth are like razors. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

He may have had a tough life. Looks like something had a go at his tail feathers too.

Maybe his name is "Lucky"....it doesn't seem to bother him!! I've seen a few gulls with fishing hooks stuck in their mouths, but never with a leg missing!! It's really a dog eat dog world!!!

Oh my... must be hard for the bird. But he looks as he would think... I'm still standing! Tough! Thanks for this great shot and the interesting lesson, Jim!

Poor fellow! At least he has proven to be hard to die... BTW I like how the bird contrasts with the blue around
