The Wolf ( Maqwai'o )
The Wolf Clan of Menominee
At night deep in sleep
I see the wolf in the distant
I hear the native flute and drum
I hear a wolf howl in tune
I fall deeper into sleep
As I sit in the green grass
The wolf comes closer to me
The flute and drum get louder
My heart starts to beat with the drum
I hear the words maqwai'o (wolf) repeating
Is this really a dream or a vision
I fall deeper into sleep
The wolf comes to my side
The wolf tells me to listen to the flute and drum
He asks can you hear me
I say yes
He says you can hear me
It is I maqwai'o (wolf) your spirit guide
Do not cry I am always with you just as
You can hear the flute and drum
