Description
Just another canyon. I had other plans, but now I made this one. I used the GrandCanyon.ter from engineers hp. First time I created many many layers and first time I used a strata! Only a little postwork on the levels. Nothing special here, rather a technical exercise.

Na, dann muich doch gleich mal hinschauen :-) Super pov, great work on surface!!! Vielleicht, aber das ist Geschmacksache, ist der Kontrast zwischen Licht und Schatten etwas hart. Trotzdem super Bild!!!

Yes I agree with Dotthy, wonderful point of vies and it is obvious that you did some serious work on that surface. I like the way you managed to integrate the strata (I was once told that strata in real life stops before the "foot" of the such mountains, and you seem to have some there (but not so evident that it matters). Cool coloring and light. I like high contrast, but Dotthy may have a point in that it is a bit hard here. I love that grass coming on the higher plathoes, very cool!

This is a good image. The thing that will now improve your work the most is to render at a larger size so you get finer detail, and then reducing and a little sharpening in a paint program. I agree with Dotthy and Xlars about the contrast. The colors are too saturated to look like the real Grand Canyon. The weakest part is your clouds.

Great job! The only place the water is clear in the Grand is up at the dam where the trout fishing is it's best! The only place where it opens up this wide is around Phantom Ranck or the end of the canyon. Did you streach this vertical? I am finding it gets the scale closer to what it really is and I suspect this is upriver from Phantom Ranch. It should look taller. The rock along the river is black and is the olders rock fond on earth. About 4 billion years! Thanks to Vegas add a few helicopters and planes flying overhead and your there! It is a really beautiful place. Love to do another trip down it one day.
