Description

A controversial aspect of the work to be found displayed all about in the fabulous garden and outbuildings is the work of J.Seward Johnson..In several areas he has fashioned full size sculpted versions of famous paintings and placed them in spots apropos the original painting. Guests are encouraged to interact and move about the work, respectfully.... As you can imagine, their are several reactions to this work...

Really an interesting idea. I think it can help to understand better artworks. And a photographer can study some really interesting aspects on light and composition. Beautiful shot, Lynn :) huggles

I agree with Ratto. A respectful reproduction would only introduce such art to a wider audience, a very good thing methinks, I doubt Renoir is too upset. I hear no spinning. Great shot, lovely use of light.

I am among those who don't question the "originality " of Johnson's work...I found it a delight to come upon these paintings come to sculpture...and was truly in awe of the exactitude of his proportions and surface treatment...Glad you all seem to be enjoying the photographic image, and while I agree with Garnite , could not help LOL at his reference!!!!

What's the problem - this is excellent, both your interpretation of his work and his of others. Well done Moonfish.
