Description

An old rusted iron decorative crown from a large stone gate post. Terrains were used for the wood boards, Symmetrical Lattices for the iron crown. Lattices - Were made with Photoshop CS as a 16-bit grayscale tif, then converted to a pgm with bikermouses new utility "TIF2PGM" (See Freetuff area). This allows terrains and lattices to have 65,535 levels of gray vs. only 255 levels of gray with normal picture imports. The result is a much smoother mesh. Yet, as you can see I immediately beat the hell out of them, texture-wise and (in the bottom render), terrian-wise. Textures - The textures on the crowns in both renders are a Materials Lab mix of a Bryce DTE mat, and a picture texture, which can give a more realistic results. The wooden boards are picture textures mapped to Terrains. Thanks to all the Bryce Forum members for their constant "raising of the bar", in our art and to bikermouse for his newly created utility, it is a miracle for Bryce!

I'm surprised you have time to create any artwork. I thought most of your time was tkaen up keeping us reprobates in line. Fantastic model, texture and lighting.
