Oh! Love your sky!!The surface terrain seems a wee bit dark,maybe the colors of the sun light? It can really wash out the surface sometimes, but nice over all scene :)

I am seeing a definite change in your images - way to go! To further comment w / Pat: try uneven terraces with slopes. Make the terrain more interesting.

Agree will all the above. Also, try to increase the background lighting; increase the sun's brightness to about 250% and experiment with your gamma setting until you are satisfied with the contrasts.
