Description

It goes without saying that I'm not much of a photographer. In fact, I'm utterly hopeless. But occasionally I take a happy snap with the digital camera that fills me with a melancholy sense of...something or other. This was taken some time ago in Gulgong, in rural New South Wales. The shadows are long, the clothes are coming off the line, and it's currently "Beer o'clock" after a hard day of chopping wood, mowing a ridiculously long driveway with a crap 50 year old mower, and general maintenance on a house that technically shouldn't be standing any longer. I tried to give it an old sepia feel with lots of contrast because...um, I dunno - it seemed the thing to do. I hope it leaves you too with a slightly wobbly sense of whatever. (and no, he's not urinating - he's holding a beer) Karl.
