Description

Has this been done before? Only postwork was to darken the pieces on the far side of the board. Spent a wee bit of time on the terrain and sizing, so I didn't bust a gut on the surfaces. Tfv&c!

1st to your question... it has been done before (it was a while ago...) I've made a chessboard as part of a landscape (if you're interested : http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=94837) and I know about another image showing a chess board. well, now to your image... imho it's close to be perfect (excellent), just the "white" might be less bright.

Wonderful creative work here! Very well done. Sides even look like marble. yes, white pieces could be less white (maybe also a ligther "marble"). Cool!

I tried building a couple chessboards one time with veneer's, couldnt get the angles precise. This image is excellent with all its exact angles and striking contrasts
