When I looked at this Christmas-decoration in a shop-window I couldn't help thinking about the one "modern" Christmas song that still brings me to tears every time I hear it:
It's Christmas time There's no need to be afraid At Christmas time We let in light and we banish shade And in our world of plenty We can spread a smile of joy Throw your arms around the world At Christmas time
But say a prayer Pray for the other ones At Christmas time it's hard But when you're having fun There's a world outside your window And it's a world of dread and fear Where the only water flowing Is the bitter sting of tears And the Christmas bells that ring there Are the clanging chimes of doom Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you
And there won't be snow in Africa This Christmas time The greatest gift they'll get this year is life Where nothing ever grows No rain nor rivers flow Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
BAND AID - DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS?
What makes me even more sad is the fact, that you just have to walk a few steps from that shop-window to find people who for sure DO know it's Christmas but won't be able to enjoy it, because they have no home and family and live on the street. Really makes you aware how lucky we are...

u do rise an important issue of days to day life, in x-mas we are more aware of the homeless as this is the time to share the spirit of mankind, to share and forgive, i trully like your shot Drea, it brings out the dreaming child in me ;0]

t'is an important reminder ;( there ae some great decorations and xmas set-ups in major stores here. always liked checking them out. its nice to see one from the other side of the world, incredible this internet thinggy! johnnie? blackmail? thats funny! but u should let him do these things, he's so adorable ;)x have a good day u guys ;)x

Xmas, or mithras birthparty should be a time you remember that youve been caring for the homeless that 363 other days ;) and have a rest. Youre work is as ever, lovely and thoughtfull.
