Not bad at first sight, but a bit too dark for me to comment on it and probably most viewers. My monitor is calibrated, but is yours too?

I personally enjoy darker imagery this is very well done and has nothing to do with your calibration bur more so the eye of the viewer. Keep up the excellent effort. I always find it amusing that the worst critics have no art to show for them selfs but think they are 3D art experts. LOL :O)

I'm no expert by any means but here are a few comments for what they're worth. Firstly it is difficult to tell for sure but the ship looks like it might be sitting "on" the sea rather than floating in it, like I say it's hard to tell. Secondly purely from a personal point of view I can't help but feel that it would be a little brighter given that there is a full moon. That said it is in the category of surrealism so I guess anything goes, and it is your picture so do what you like. Cheers.

From one squid to another: Nice overall, you need to look into lighting the land a little better. That will give it a little shape instead of the flatness that it has now. Ninj is right too, the ship is riding a little high.
