Description

The AutoTaxis are filtering out from the depot around the corner. Like rodents they roam the streets, awaiting the opportunity to pick up a few lost souls struggling to find their way home from a club, soya-bar or a hooker's room. They glide by silently, you know you can freak them out, hold out your hand to one, call Taxi and watch it stop, wait for the doors to open and then take six steps backwards. Call for a taxi. If you do it around the corner from a depot you can get a mexican wave going. The snow underneath my feet crackles as I walk along it, it's a murky grey colour, mixing in with the pollution and dirt on the floor to give a strange complextion. It doesn't snow in The City, at least, I never saw it before today. Maybe snow should be that colour, I don't know. The kids have been out of school today, not that many of them went anyway, still I guess it's nice to have an excuse. Christmas is still celebrated here, but it's a horrid collage of dilluted marketing, aimed squarely at the corporate families in their condo apartments in the gleaming corporate zones. Out in the public zones it doesn't really work that well, most people don't have family, fewer still actually want to spend any time with them. Christmas in a can, the ad looms high over the street. A ready-made Christmas dinner comprised of quick heat can, no need for a carving knife, no time for it out here. To many people out here this is Christmas, a quick nod to tradition before heading back to work or jacking up with the latest street drug. Merry Christmas from The City. --- Couldn't really get the snow to look quite right, but it's not too bad. My entry to IW43d's Crimbo competition and a holiday greeting to everybody as well. Dystopia by Moebious IW43d's Dill car Pixelfader's Stugart and Static pack. Wusumah's V3 sweater Julian hair by Neftis Billy-T's Coat, jeans and boots One last thing... MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Merry Christmas and it's good to see Dystopia from the ground level, rather than just the skylines. Excellent work all around...
