Description

Well, I worked up the courage to do this..and it only took a week to do it... Cimerone, racinjason and Ferguson, these are for you because you are the ones that kept encouraging me to show my traditional media. These three were part of my finals review for my Drawing I class at West Liberty.... And I'm proud to say I god a grade card tosay with all A's on it....I am so proud of myself. Still need to work on my drawing skills, but I feel more confident in it. Thanks Professor Fencl you're the best..... This is the first time ever in my life I worked with colored pencils. I wish the image had been better, but for some reason I just can't seem to get a good shot of it...But this was one of the best that I had taken Done with prismacolor pencils Thanks for looking!

Colored pencil takes such patience and care--and you have done a wonderful job on the metal of the coffee pot especially! Best of all, it's 100% yours! Bravo!

Wow.. this reminds me of my first still life in art class. I was 8 and in a private studeo..and I had to do fruit and some yellow vase. My grandparents have it now..it's about.. umm an antique I'd say. LOL 37 years ago..OMG.. But yours is more fun.. and beautiful.. and done with my favorite medium. . Mine was oil paint.. yuck..and my very very first one was that black charcoal.. I think I had more charcoal on me..than on the paper. LOL

Although I asked you to notify me if you posted some of the art from your lessons, and you didn't - bad girl! - I happened to stumble across this posting and then discovered your sweet dedication - thank-you Dee - you're the best! As has been stated above, pencil crayon isn't the easiest medium to work with, but you have performed this lovely still life like a seasoned pro. I think what might be a really nice touch Dee is to make a copy of this picture, then take it into your paint program and see what you can do with a familiar medium - blending traditional with modern - some of your postworking skills are among the top 5 in Renderosity, so it would be very interesting to see what might develop with your abilities in a paint program. Regardless dear heart, I think you have done a marvellous job on this, and your tutor must be very proud of you - I know I am!

Dee, once again, FANTASTIC! You really are a natural, you know, the way you just "take" to whatever medium... really incredible stuff. Congratulations, I am so proud of you!
