Description
Continuing with my series on Greek mythology...this is my version of Narcissus, the beautiful man who falls in love with himself when he sees his reflection in a pool of water...unable to touch the vision of beauty (himself), he goes mad...this is where we get the term narcissistic....i used a famous painting of Echo and Narcissus to give me an idea for the pose...I used Daz's Mike 2, Michael Hair, and Mike's Drape, and the fantasy Bow Quiver all in poser, and imported them into Vue D'Esprit...I used alpha planes for the background trees, or else it would have taken over 96 hours to render...getting rid of the trees and vue grass cut the time down to about 7 hours...

Very nice rendering. I like the pose. It really suggests what a pitiful character Narcissus is. Although it's impractical, it would be interesting to see a fully 4-day rendered version as what really makes Narcissus' plight so pitiful is the contrast between his single-minded focus on himself and the more beautiful world around him to which he is oblivious. This comes across in this rendering with the plants in foreground and reflection of the sky. But the background is economically done. Good job.
