Description

Excuse my whimsey at the title but....well i want hits man...lol...The tree/plant was a 3Dcafe dl that i made work in Imagine.The lites and tinsel are both created with Popcorn.exe(thanx darren),which uses points on a mesh to place fully textures .iob files....very handy. The lights are simple discs with twinkle.itx and some colour,then made into a controlled Y falloff parallel light facing the camere,of course as i was gonna go for lens flare,but discovered a limit at around 125 lights...hh heh heh. Tinsel is a 3 section hig 1 section wide oblong aluminiun plane w/lots of reflect. I used a chrome global reflection map at render time....enjoy your festive feast,whatever you eat wherever you are,and all the best in the new year.

Hey bobby, looks good. I would try something to bring attention to the star on top. A lens flare ( I know they are overused) or a volumetric light effect. I guess what I am saying is give the star on top more punch and it will give the image more life.... just my 2 cents. PS glad to see I'm not the only one still waiting for Imagine 3

well will.....i would have but i had 125 lights(the twinkle things are also shadow casting lights) which i would have had to go back and reset to no lens flare,which seemed to be a tad excessive for a simple christmas card so i went without the lens flare,and a volumetric f/x around the star only just occurred to me as i read your post...lol...now it's too late for christmas,and completely inappropriate for the next hi holiday(easter) so i'll just do a new one for next year
