Description

Took a small break from poser to make this simple model. This was greatly inspired (as in copied lol) by Picasso's "Still life with a pitcher and apples" painting. My apples don't looks like apples thought but I still like the result. Everything modeled by me. for the background cloth I used poser cloth room to drape it against some cubes. The apple/pear texture is from deepshade and the cloth texture from marlin fabric cd. Rendered in cinema 4d with HDRI and 1 light only for a little highlights. No postwork... well other than the post effect done in cinema and adjusting color in photoshop. Thank you for viewing, comments are always appreciated :)

Im still fighting with HDRI and Radiosity (it takes looong to render and see the results), now i can better appreciate such image, thanks to you Dash :-). Maybe just a little less Diffuse from the oranges (this orange aura around them) and a stronger shadow. The reflections are perfect, great models and it is a impressive image. Superb.

I love the pitcher and cloth materials, very real! As for the apple, you might want to have a look here: http://www.etereaestudios.com/docs_html/fruits_htm/fruits_index.htm He has some sort of tutorial on how he makes his fruit so spectaculary real. And I agree with Berserk: some stronger shadows will stop the pitcher from 'floating' above the cloth... Apart from that, beautiful composition!

It's a beautiful image, and looks very real. I see what you mean about the Picasso- but I'd rather have yours on my wall I think. Incidently, are my eyes playing tricks on me or can you see the reflection of a window in the pitcher?
