Description

The decent! The Mars Lander USS Robert Goddard beginning its decent to the Martian surface with the USS John Adams orbiting above. The terrain map of Mars by way of http://www.space-graphics.com/, this site offers some excellent images of different planets in or Solar System. The spaceship models where created in Bryce 5 from scratch, all concepts and designs by me. This is the 3rd in the series from detachment to landing. Thanks again for taking a peek. Cheers, David

Very nice image! OK, here's the critique, your lighting is backwards. The light hitting the ship is opposite that hitting the planet. At first I couldn't figure out what was wrong but something was not right. Look at the craters on the planet. Because the light is opposite the ship, they don't look like craters but bumps. Minor detail but it's there. Otherwise, A+

Ok, Bambam. I got your PM so I came back and found this picture again. I still think they look like bulges but if I stare at 'em long enough, they turn into craters. I've discovered that looking at the picture upside down makes them look more like craters.

But it's not the planet that matters! It's the impressive modelling of the ship. Superb!
