Description

did this one in one night. a few hours to do (i dunno, lost track of time). started out as an embrace, but then i thought it might be cool and poignant to have wolf girt for battle and ready to leave. the title comes from a poem about wolf and phoenix; if you want to read it, it's posted at www.geocities.com/merianmoriarty/longawaypoem.htm wanted two major contrasts in this: first, i wanted the contrast between phoenix's sleep-mussed hair and wolf's tidily braided hair; second, i wanted the contrast between phoenix's almost forlorn expression and wolf's determined one. those with keen eyes will recognize phoenix's pinky ring from pics like 'Lounging,' as well as wolf's promise ring from 'Bottom of the Garden.' wolf and phoenix belong to me, dont' steal, yadda yadda. stylized on 60#. rendered with a bic no. 2, general's 2B & B art pencils, and a rubber eraser. copyright stuff added in photoshop.
