Description

This is for Stevie822, who asked me to try to do some Nagel images... Boh! I think this resembles Nagel's style! :) Maybe the hair are a little 80ish... But I like them! And maybe there are too much shadows... Nagel was more "flat"... But I like them! And maybe the model doesn't remember much Nagel's ones... But... Ok, you got it... ;) However, if you have any idea on how to improve this let me know! Now this style is intriguing me! Ok, for the technical part: "Rendered" in P5, postwork in PSP8. Bye! Da.Mc

Nagel's always been a favorite of mine... Ever since finding ways to get ahold of issues of Playboy when I was young. (I still get funny looks now and then when I buy a copy. :-)
I don't think you have too much shadow here, but I might sharpen the shadows a bit... More simple lines in the shape of the shadow, and less "realistic" variation, I mean. I know you said you like the hairstyle, but I'd probably go with one of the more solid ones, there, too...
All in all, I'd say it's a really nice work in his style... Well done.

Now THIS is so very close to Patrick Nagel's style. I've loved his art for years and have an 11x14 book of all his works. You've done a great job here of drawing his slick "cosmopolitan" style. I'll be watching your progress because I know you'll do it using Poser4 and PSP7 (and hopefully me too).
