My holiday greeting card for the Freefall forum .... I actually spent more than a year putting this together; I started back in mid-December 2002, but set it aside until I could finish my 3D versions of Sam and Helix. And it's just as well that I waited, because Poser 5 could never have rendered this complex a scene under Win98's memory mismanagement; I upgraded to XP just so I could finish it. The in-jokes abound in this image. The JATO rocket and duct-tape are a homage to one of Sam's more spectacular misadventures. The reindeer's "name" is actually an Anglicized mangling of her initials, and only a die-hard fan of the comic has a chance of recognizing the reference. Sam's scarf is made from Christmas wrapping paper; he recently lost the original in a tragic bathroom accident, and although Florence crafted a replacement out of duct tape, I thought he needed something more seasonal. Oh, and I've hidden a dragon silhouette somewhere in the picture; let's see if anyone can find it ....
