Description
The background was generated in Terragen. Still a newbie with this, but I spent a lot more time on postwork here and I finally feel happy with it. The shadows on the foreground section are a noticeably different hue from those in the background. Is that okay?
Any suggestions on how to improve this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to look!

I really like the composition of the image but I think you should have blurred the terragen render a bit to emulate depth of field (have you rendered the mountains in best quality?). The shadow is okay :-)

Great composition, great shadows.

Great. Have you considered adding depth of field?
parodygm
Yes, I've learned a lot since I did this and depth of field is of course absolutely the right thing to have done. I don't really like to go back and change old work - it's good for me (and maybe others) to hopefully see a progression in what I do. LOL, I don't think I have all the parts that made this image up around anymore anyway. :) Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Much appreciated.

This is amazing...love the river. No expert but the shadows look fine here.

Great pose, I really like the background also, I guess I don't have the patience for terragen, I can never make anything worth lookin at with that program.

Excellent work!

Fantastic use of Terragen. I've never quite been able to get a sky to look as dramatic as this one. I agree with greetinx about applying blurring the background, OR the foreground. A bit of DOF really adds a tremendous amount of realism to a scene, and it's not too hard to pull off which is good news for hacks like me!
