Just checking that it has steel springs and thus after 1865 when the Bristish artillery abandonned wooden carriages. A really elegant sense of quiet mystery that I can touch in 1870.

The boy in the carriage keeps drawing my attention - there is such a contrast to the rest of the image I keep second guessing my first impression - I don't know if this was intentional but I think it is brilliant !
