Good idea, but need to be developped. Working with particle means lots of work to avoid unwanted intersections. Did you use a brushmap to create the 'spinning' (?) part of the screw ? It seems a little bit out of scale but it is maybe a matter of pixel resolution and anti-aliasing.

How about bevelling the nuts. that would be nicer and more realistic. they are a bit blocky atm.

The spinning is not a brush-map its a simple extrude object:-) And the bevel problem of the nuts and screws comes from scaling down the objects, to avoid unwanted intersections. ;-(
