Looks good, great textures and all. Looks like some kinda early telephone.

It is an electric motor. Electric current is alternated between the coils on each side. The shafts that go down into the coils are most likely magnets. The alternating current causes a lever action spinning the flywheel on the right. With that info... maybe you can animate it with that information. :-)

The Beagle Brothers used to hang around one of those things in their old drawings found in the artwork in their Apple ][ software packages back in '83.
