Description

Tussock Grass. Without this tough little plant, most sand dunes, and some sand beaches would not exist. It grows down almost to the high water mark. Its roots anchor the dunes, and wind swept beaches, and the foliage breaks up the straight run of the wind. Without this plant, our rare sand beaches would be back in the trees somewhere.

Would you like to try this from a lower POV? Don't get me wrong Jim, it's just an idea, but i think, this wonderful shot could be interesting with some more water in the background?

What wonderful colors, front to back...dune grass here serves the same purpose. Although our sand beaches are mayhaps less rare, they are nonetheless precious and so easily erroded... Delightful image as we are about to plunge into single digit temps on the Eastern coast!

Brings to mind the song by David Bowie from the 80's..."Wild is the Wind". Cause and effect in the end...man buggers up and nature restores...as always.

Tussock grass? We have sea grape, sea oats and dune grass. The glue that holds it all together. Might be interesting to have a beach in the woods!? LOL! NOT! Beautiful color!
