Description

Just testing these awesome new trees by gillbrooks... there is no postwork on the image or trees, pretty cool, huh? Thanks for viewing :-) Gail NOTE: I did some more smoothing on the branches of the closest trees. I brought the tree into solo mode, selected the branches and then turned the percentage up to 180% and then hit the smoothing sphere twice. Then I saved it to my tree presets so I have it to use all the time. These trees fill a scene so nicely. I highly recommend them! Just remember because they are 3DS format they have to be smoothed in Bryce, twice on the branches only at 180%... I tried them in Poser too and they import with the textures and look great there too!

Yea I also like the trees. Are they one of the preset trees? How you make them?

They were made in a modeling program by a friend who sells under the name of gillbrooks... they will be available in the Renderosity Marketplace as soon as they are approved... their 3DS format so they can be used in any 3D graphics program that accepts 3DS format. I tried them out in Poser too an they look great!

This is just wonderful Gail - I love what you did. Sometimes 3DS models imported into Bryce need the use of the smoothing tool which is why the branches may look a little boxy. Here's a closeup of the tree after smoothing - Closeup

Note to SavantSoir... because of the amount of leaves I didn't even notice in the nano preview or the test renders that the branches needed more smoothing on the front trees. After setting up the scene I played with the camera angle and moved in real close to the front trees. Once inside the tree it did need more smoothing on the branches. I jumped the gun and didn't even notice until you pointed it out. If you look at the image that is uploaded now you'll see they smooth out very nicely... thanks for pointing it out. Serves me right for uploading at 2AM when I am half asleep ;-)

I understand what you mean Gail...I made a post a while back of the Victory model and was so rushed I forgot to take down all the extra set of flags and sails that were included in the model. (i removed that post and re-posted when i woke up!). I had the priviledge of seeing the trees in their "fixed" state, and they are truly lovely! :)
