Description

I do believe I am getting close to achieving a look of proper lighting, hehe. Sorry about models, I am preparing my lighting for a 350Z model I am near completing. Peace Brice www.lucasavage.com

I think isn a nice image, this one, i like the crop-marks a lot, and the text there, i can see u are a graphical-man (dont know the right word in english - people who design magazines etc). About the lighting... i cant say i really know my lighting, but what i've learned, is that its very important to know what u want to see in an image... so adjust your lighting. PIXAR doesnt even use GI, renderman only got that later, and still they mke images that looks real.. Also, all that i know about lighting, i learned myself, throug 192538907235789 wrong renders. It work to try to get lighting, as simple as possible. Dont just use GI as a standard, see it as an extra, its nice, but it takes time to render. This is more important if u're making an animation. Maybe you think i gave a crappy anwser, but you'll learn a big lot about lighting when you start with eg. point-lights... you can really make cool things with 10 lamps, nice placed and nicely colored. One thing, i love GI! And knowing GI, you can fake it nicely. I gotta go, succes m8.

Thank you Rinus. Here is my rig: GI=%0 Radiosity= On-Monte Carlo 3 Light setup. (3 Point or whatever its called.) I am using 1 area light and two distant lights. all with intensities set at %2 I am having one prob though. I am being forced to increase the reflection level on the floor so that it blends in with the background properly. If I decrease below %30, the floor sticks out from the background, which isn't what I want.

Very Cool Image....you might want to blur the floor reflection a tad...overall excellent job!

Perhaps you'd like to try rendering inside a really large bowl? That might help with the blending of floor and backdrop without pushing the reflection over the top. Wish you'd post more of these really cool tests. :o)
