Description

Too many puppy pictures, so I decided to share mine. His name is Jagermeister (Jager for short) --however, his tail wags just as wildly when you call him "Dork". He is a German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) and we think he is about 15 months at this point. He was found injured and abandoned out on I-90 in the Cascade foothills by Animal Control. They brought him to one of the local animal hospitals and after two surgeries, successfully rebuilt his right rear leg. Note the pink area on his rear leg. Unless you look really close, you won't even see the scar--pretty amazing considering when I took him home, there was a hole the size of a silver dollar down to the muscle due to the fact they could not gather enough skin to cover the wound completely--he was a mess. Jager and I met when the head vet at the hospital called my girlfriend's parents, who have raised GSPs in the past, looking for a home before they had to turn him over to the pound. They referred the vet to me since I was looking for a dog. When I met him, he still had 30 stitches in his leg and it was in a sling. He bounced out to the meeting area at the hospital on three legs, leaned up against me (after walking by the staff and the girlfriend)--and peed down my leg. Male bonding at its best. LOL ...GSPs are SMART (too damn smart for their own good frankly) and he knows he is cute. Thx for looking and we return you to your regularly scheduled renders. ;'D
