Description

This was another attempt at atmospheric effects and I tried water for the first time as a major part of the picture. The render took 10 hours at 3000 pixels in width on a brand new P4 3.2 GHz. Must be something in the water !!! Hope you enjoy ! Thanks for viewing ! Merci pour vos commentaires et suggestions ! Merci!!!

Nice strong colours on the terrain there and that water looks so inviting. btw As far as I understand it, Terragen uses it's own proprietry engine for the terrain but water is raytraced hence the jump in rendering time, mind you, 10hrs still sounds a bit much to me on your system.

Thats sounds resonalbe to me. I have a 3Ghz P4 machine with 1Gb DDR 400 Ram and I rendered a water scene that took 24hours. But I turned EBD and ultra on in the render settings. Water scene takes ages. =) P4 is slower than equivalent Athlons when rendering in Terragen. Very beautiful image by the way. =)

A beautiful tranquil image, the water really adds a calming influence to the scene. Excellent.

The water is beautiful wich justifies the rendering time to me. Great surface mapping and lighting. The clouds are the only weak spot in the whole image to my eye, 2D with more persistence would probably have given a more realistic result. Overall though and excellent image and a very peaceful and calming scene :-)
