Description
Model and Rusty texture from 3D Cafe. Rendered in 3DS VIZ. Any suggestions? Is the car too rusty? Where would you put this poor old chevy, in a dark alley, On the front lawn of a tacky mobile home? Or should I go in a completely different direction?

Too rusty? No. Put it in a person's garage like they're working on it or in a true body shop getting re-vamped. In a junkyard with a kid and his dad pointing to it with title "I'll take it" or "My first car" or something like that. In the yard is a good one too. If you put it in the driveway put oil down too.

you have a bit of texture stretching that can be corrected by cutting up the mesh and mapping the parts separately. you can also add in some dents on the body by vertex manipulation or using a displacement or bump map.

Listen to the hankster, he's on the trolly. If you had Max you could always add some noise or delete and meshmooth some faces around the wheel well for a rusty look. If you were going all out you could get a 3d painter prog and paint rust streaming down from all the metallic parts, i.e. door handles, chrome, etc. Keep up the good work :)
