Try making the muffler a two-sided material, and see if that helps. As far as the modeling goes, it looks like you're doing a great job so far from what I can see in these two viewpoints.

I agree your doing a Great Job!!! Only thing I noticed was that you might want to tighten up the outter edges of the door and door seal, so they appear crisp, and not so rounded. also add an omni light with only diffuse checked with a 0.7 intensity and link it to the camera, this will add a little more light to the camera view and let us see the model better. it's a shame not to see all your nice work :)

I figured out the problem with the mufflers. for some odd reason. adding meshsmooth to them made the orange disappear. and realistic lighting effects appear!! lol GO Figure. THanks guys you asll been helpful in many ways!

I've noticed that sometimes the modifiers in the stack get corrupted and cause strange results on the mesh, most of the time deleting the last mesh smooth and creating a new one with the same settings does the trick for me. anyway, I'm looking forward to see more of this as you go.... :)

Yeah, that hood it's great! kinda reminds me NFS underground.I see you've started to give litle hard edges on your cars. As you can see the results outstands from your previews models. keep it up. I want to see it finished. ;)
