Description
Hey all, Here is an image that was based on a photograph by F.A.H Bloemendal on a calendar I have.
I modeled everything in this pic in Carrara studio 3. Used anything grows/shader ops as well throughout the image. This image was rendered using a couple of lights and also the "skylight" feature of C3. Maybe next time I will render using GI, this render took about six hours to render at 1500 pixels wide. A couple minor touchups in postwork(floating post). This was also an exercise in hand painting texture maps as well.
Hope you enjoy and comments welcome.
Regards
Mike

Wow! Beautiful work! I agree this is comparable to a Vue render. Not so easy in Carrara!

Thanks for the comments , I was debating about using a sky photo instead of using Carrara's sky function for more realism but I think the current sky still doesn't detract from the image.Am I correct in this do you think or should I add a sky photo. Mike
