Description

A while ago I decided that I wanted to try the compositing abilities of Carrara. So, this evening, I went down to my cold, dark, and dank basement (that isn't actually my bench space), and took a digital photo, into which I composited this little droid. After about half an hour of toying with the bloody lighting and camera angle, I got something which I think has some potential to mislead people. The droid is for a film project which will in all likelihood never come to fruition. Nods to jdvorak for his constant input, some of which was helpful, and without whom I would probably never of gotten around to doing this image. Carrara 2.1, with some post in Corel PP.

I like the feeling generated by the cluttered workbench =:-) It looks a lot like my workbench at home (minus the olive oil).

Nice compositing job, your droid fits very nicely into your basement.

I like it, a neat thing you could do to take it farther, and further immerse it in its environment is take apart the model a bit, and make it look in pieces, more being worked on, rather then all finished.

At first I thought you had rendered the whole picture... that would be pretty mind blowing. But this composite is impressive in itself, of course. I wonder: what advice did jdvorak have?

to answer that: constant bickerin about the lid color. but it was all in good company. it is always a pleasure to work with EMC. oh yea, great image (hmmm...), respects, Jeremiah

Well DANG! It looks great. I can easily understand why this took on some work and time to finish.
