Description

Except for some Poser pilots that you probably can't see, aircraft modeled in LightWave 5 and everything else modeled and rendered in Bryce 5. Another of my passions, besides Mars, is vintage aircraft. I'm not good enough to model actual planes so I just "approximate" or invent them for myself. However, I do extensive research for the type of airplane that I want to make to keep details accurate. I am especially intriqued by the days of early passenger planes. There are six different airplanes in this picture. Two are the same model in different colors.

Oh, I forgot: The radial engine was downloaded from the Net. I think it may have been from 3D Cafe, but I also believe that I have seen it available elsewhere. Again, in those days, I wasn't paying much attention to who made what, but as it turned out, I owe this person a lot of gratitude, because I've used that model over and over and it usually is what really makes the models look convincing. Anybody able to identify the creator of it? If so, please let me know so I can give proper credit and thanks. Meanwhile, whoever you are, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!!

If I ever redo this picture (and I probably will), I'm going to change the materials for the hangers and add some "old-timy" cars or trucks parked by them and some people standing around waiting or working. Any suggestions as to other items I ought to include to make more real?
