Description

Last December I decided to visit the Memphis Zoo while we were having a warm spell in Tennessee. And while I was there I decided to see just how close I could get to a really pretty rattlesnake. This was the result which I am rather pleased with :o) Hope you enjoy it too!
Taken with a Sony DSC-F707 Cyber shot Thanks for looking at my work!!! -Shannon

Got to admit that they are a lovely creature. Very efficient at what they do. Also very efficient at scaring the pants off people under the right circumstances. hehehe. Very nice photo ... through glass no doubt. Was he telling you a story? or a little dance music from his tail. Dont try this at home. I gotta give this one a VOTE for photo excelence. One wee thing - the pits arent very noticeable - I would like to see his tail to be convinced it's a rattler instead of a gopher snake. Dwayne

Trust me, it is no gopher snake, besides their heads don't even look like that. The coloring might in certain cases, but not the head. This was a Diamondback Rattlesnake and a very patient one too. Yes it was through glass, but he was still eyeballing me wondering what I was up to no doubt. haha Thanks for checking out my work!
