Description
~A dedication to my Father~
A simple operation they said
no cause for concern they said
hip replacement they do this procedure everyday
5 operations in one month and still no hip
they wouldn't listen
we said no morphine you react badly
but they kept on giving it to you
what do we know we are only your family
with each dose a fog enveloped your mind and it became harder to fight back to reality til you stopped trying
Your mind is forever locked away in a place we can't reach and in a body that no longer will work for you
Yet I am still proud to call you dad for the man you once were

Chris,I am so sorry to hear about this...I had a friend who was given morphine even though the doctors were warned he might be alergic,he had a violent reaction and his heart literally burst after he pummelled his doctor in a fit of dilerrium. He survived somehow but his mind and body are gone...same thing, his family told the doctors and they wouldn't listen!!I empathize with your plight and just hope that your memories of the man he was are how you'll always remember him...thanks for sharing with us m'lady,I know it has to be hard and I for one offer you all the hugs I could possibly give:)

Damn. Hit me right between the eyes. It's so unfair, isn't it? Hold on to that last line. I'm thinking of you ... and your father.

I am sorry for what happened to your father. I lost my father a few years ago, we still miss him so very much. Even still, I believe it may be even harder to lose someone as you have... yet, where there is still life in his body, there is still hope of recovery. I believe in miracles, and I will also pray for his recovery and strength for you and your family. I am sure that he is still aware in his spirit and can feel your love.
