Dear friends, I just would like to explain you a beat about Dakka Valley project. The Dakka area is among some of the most remote place in Africa. It is in the Eastern Nigeria, south of Yola. It is a vast expanse of wilderness alternating mainly grassland but also savanna and some moist forest and mountain forest. It's probably one of the most ecologically diverse biosystem in Africa. Some populations are living there, mainly untouched by western civilization. This area is also considered as the birth place of the Bantu people. 3 phases in this project : I will first, during 3 to 6 months, explore virtually the area. Then, the terrain will be available for further exploration to everybody. I also encourage the creation of other terrain as the explored area is very small (7.5 x 7.5 km). By exploration, I mean any digital creation related to this virtual world : graphic creations (static and animated), musical creation, linguistic, mythology, cooking creation (to be tested before publishing) etc... During the 3rd phase, I propose to visit really the area, that means a trip in this area, any persons that can sustain him/herself will be welcome. As I am already in this country, I can plan the journey pretty well. We will then be able to confront the reality with the virtuality.
