Description

This image is based on a tutorial by 'Domagoj' over at 3dkingdom.org. Its a really simple basic shape, but I spent quite a while playing around with the glass material, Im not quite sure how effective it is, but when you consider it's just a simple gray with some reflection, opacity, and a couple of blue-ish coloured lights I don't think it's too bad

Interesting exercise - and outcome! Would a coloured glass marble have made it more of a picture?

Possibly, but a glass marble is, shall i say, a rather common object to use when playing around with the properties of your 'glass'. i was after something a little different, but i was more interested in the actual look of the glass rather than the composition...Thanks for your comments :-)

I belive the refractions should be different, try just adding a raytrace material in the refractions-slot ..as it is right now ..it looks more like plastic

I understand the look you want. Very clean. Keep going, you may have a "fresh eye". That is always welcome to the 3D world. We can get stale with the "Glass should have this and look like that" business. Keep learning and hold onto your subtleness. Nuance is rare.
