Description
The Island of Arran can be seen in the distant left hand side. The figures are on the summit of Beinn an Lochan in Argyll, Scotland.

The descent was made on the far side of this top and was very scary as the whole lot was avalanching. Although it was nothing dramatic, the way down was made with extreme caution, its the closest I've been to avalanches and not something enjoyable. The views made up for this however, as you could see for perhaps a hundred miles.

Great shot. Never seen an avalanche myself, but have seen their aftermath. Pretty impressive stuff. If they can take out a 150 foot hemlock, a climber wouldn't be much of a challenge.
