Description

History from TheOneRing.net: Aliases: Elfstone, Strider, Longshanks, Wingfoot, Elessar, Thorongil, Estel, Telcontar, The Dunedan, the Renewer, Isildur's Heir Date of Birth: TA 2931 Race: Man of Gondor, of Isildur's Line Height: Tall Date of Death: FO 120 Alignment: Good Parents: Arathorn, Gilraen Spouse: Arwen Evenstar Date of Marriage: TA 3019 Children: Eldarion, and several daughters I decided to do something different with the character of Aragorn. I digitally painted the portrait with my wacom tablet and PSP8. The photo frame, background in the frame, Roses and Eye are all done through PSP8. The painting is loosely referenced from a wallpaper on the LOTR website. Thank you for stopping by! I really do appreciate it and grow as an artist from your comments. Have a wonderful Day!...Cheryl

Wonderful Cheryl All I can say is this sometimes you have to let go in order to move on.. You have never been afraid to experiment as all artists must... But, maybe with this it will pay off to be brave..Bravo my friend..

It took me ages to get around to seeing the first LOTR, and I haven't as yet seen the other two. I watch those kind of films rarely but mostly to see the magnificent special effects. I inject this only because I think this astonishing color portraiture of Aragorn is by far the very best piece of work to date Cheryl. Not only have you accurately captured his likeness, you have done so in full color - a tremendous leap in a new direction - I am simply so proud of you. I also love the roughness of the painting as it suits the character and is a refreshing change in the hundreds of portraits I've seen of him. Excellent in every way young lady and a definite vote!

I am very impressed. The colors you used to get the facial tone are really awesome, something that I still haven't quite gotten myself. The likeness is also well done. I agree completely with what has been said above and I love this new step for you...

THIS ROCKS!! You know what this reminds me of Cheryl? It makes me think of Van Gogh. Vincent meets Lord of the Rings... exceptional!!!
