Description

-My first upload -Max user since version 2.5 Rendered and modeled in 3dsmax 5 using poly modeling. This is a "spin-off" of the traditional wheel space station that makes use of centripital forces to generate gravity. The only diference is that it can be added to using the modular sections as needed. I want to add more to the model. Ideas are welcome along with any critique. Thanx for viewing!!

Very cool looking model. I like the idea of it being a spiral. The lighting is great too; gives a sense of being in space and far from the sun. Excellent artwork!

The modle and lighting are excellent, but the windows stick out like sore thumbs. Try to make the texture for the windows a bit more dynamic rather than the plain blue (maybe a chrome type reflection?!?!). Also, a nice glow around the windows would add to the realism.

Actually, the windows are on the inside. Gravity on this thing pushes outward because of the spin. Imagine standing inside of the helix tube; the long winding triangulated space frame would be your top window. The blue panels are supposed to be illuminated plates. Like hazard warning lights for other ships or something. On second thought, they are kinda big. Making them smaller and more glowy would probably help convey this idea better. -note taken.

.:I agree with XKILLAX perhaps making the hazard lights smaller with a little more of that great detail you've included in other areas of the ship would look great, a slight glow to them wouldn't hurt either - That said it's a cool image:.

Excellent modeling and texturing, but you need to improve the lighting with self ilumin. and glow!

Somehow the perspective doesn't give that huge feeling of the model. Maybe it's also the pipeconstruction that is to thick...

The windows make it look smaller than I believe you intended, losing the size perspective. Nice idea though.

The main prob for me is lack of scale indicators(people, etc)So, without reference, the spokes seem over size, making the station seem smaller than it should be.Construction-wise,how about tubes between the spiral elements so people and other traffic don't have to go all the way to the central shaft.I'd put them at the spoke intersections. This is an excelent idea and well executed. BTW, which way does it turn,'in' or 'out?

Very interesting indeed, I really like it. It is unusual and very well made. And all construction elements have a nice touch too. I agree on the scale and on the "hazard panel" issues. Why haven't you produced more of that? It's a pity. Ciao!
