Description

Well I had to try strata ! The terrain is from Terrafiction (Thanks !). I must have worked a good part of yesterday trying to find how to do this right (hope you find that it is !). Also experimented with vegetation overlays. BTW I just love the American Southwest !!! Hope you enjoy this ! The Render at 5000 wide took 6H with all the alliasing options.Je vous remercie pour avoir visionn

Love the way the strata looks so natural in the image. The vegatation also looks really natural - could've posted this under realism - superb work.

This is by far the most realistic Terragen of the Grand Canyon I have ever seen. The strata are splendid! The only problem I have with it is that in the real Grand Canyon, the vegetation is much more sparse. To get an idea of what the vegetation looks like, please visit Extraplicity. I have some photographs of the Grand Canyon there. If you are interested in larger sizes, I sell a set in my store. The fairly level ground in the canyon, on the various mesas, works out about like this: light colored grass in season, and small dark green scrubby bushes, each standing alone. An overlay would be a very good idea; Terragen can't make a surface that looks right. Vote!
