Description

Weavers Needle, the thing dreams are made of.. By folklore and legend this is where the Old dutchman got his gold from or was one of the way points.. A women laid claim to the needle and had running gunfights with the other prospectors that came around. Many shots were fired in vain for there is no gold in or on the needle. But legends don't die, when there is a fortune attached to it. Then again there is always Miners needle to the N/E, maybe they got mixed up???? Ok this is what the DEM gave me. funny thing is the mountains in the back grouns are almost a perfect copy of the real ones. Tg with PSP for post.

The jungle pattern is repetitive, the mountain itself is "sharp". Nevertheless, it is very impressive render.

I remember this story from my youth! I always wanted to go looking for the mine, lol! On our trips through Arizona I would often think about it when we were driving. Thanks for reminding me,lol :) This is a very nice image I might add :)

Nice concept, pov and moody colours - perhaps a couple more layers for the rocky surface?

Pretty cool stuff you got here Frank. I really like the texture and terrain in the background, that is good!!!

I've hiked here a few times over the years. Excellent work Frank. You must tell me about your process of getting and converting DEM files.

Fascinating! Of course, there are scads of stories like that out there. The one I remember best is the one about the Superstitions. The overlay is interesting.
