Description

The USS Carl Anderson orbited Uranus for 8 weeks while top NASA engineers studied "The Saturn Incident". It was finally detirmined that the mission should be cut short and the mission leg to Neptune was cancelled. It was also detirmined that the ship should return to Earth ASAP for a complete diagnostic and structural study. Top scientists agreed that the ship would be fine as long as the same conditions which led to the "Incident" were not recreated. NASA ordered the ship to return to the Luna Shipyard in lunar orbit upon return. Admiral MacNamarra ordered the ship to prepare for a maximum speed run back to earth. The three navigation computers agreed on the course back to earth and the matter-antimatter engine was fired at 100 percent thrust for the first time. The ship fired its engine to slow down 4 hours 32 minutes later and after a full sensor scan of the surrounding area was performed, it was decided that the engine was fully certified for the .66 speed of light in which it was thought to be able to achieve. Two hours later the USS Carl Anderson prepared to enter lunar orbit. Moon map from Planet Portal, Earth map from Evil Dr. Ganymede's Planetary Map Hub Thanks for taking a look :o)

Great story! Sounds like you even figured out the travel time at that speed. Good detail, if I were to change anything, it would be to lower to density of the starfield.

Super!! well worthy of VOTE!!. loved the story. Great modeling ... Starfield is perfect. Density works well given that there is no atmosmpherics in the way - only thing about the starfield is that you need some variation in magnatudes. You have grabbed some fans on the story line also - please dont abandon it now! Perhaps a couple to further test the drive - but with dual drives just in case. With colonization packs as a last resort. LOL. Much you can do - other than abandoning the project. crossing my fingers. Dwayne
