Description

*Whenever I create, I am offering to you a part of my spirit to investigate.* -------------- Photoshop, 6 layers, from this this picture of mine, 1 hour work. For the current Theme "Creation, Beginning, Rebirth" Modulation of tonal range courtesy of Synapse and crrunchyfrog's advice and help :) (love you angels :)) -------------- This is my proper take at January Theme after the casual (someway) inclusion into it of my previous piece, "Your Last Rose". The concept is self evident, and my words above just re-state it... Note that the"texture" that reminds of a canvas is a note to remind of my love for painting with oils, that is always my favourite medium. Talkin back about my statement, wheter that might be conscious, ambigous, openly accepted and researched or contrariwise disguised, hidden, refused or dismissed EVERY offspring of creativity (I'd never use easily the term "art", you know how picky I am about that) shows the creator's soul. With the person's burden, barriers, mistakes and misconcepts(or lies even) but also with his (hers) outbursts of vitalism, ideas and hopes. Creativity is a therapy for the self, offered to others too as element to ponder. Creativity is something precious that everyone possesses, in different ways, but it exists within everyone, and it's a treasure we should always relate to, cos to express it just makes life better, and I mean every kind of life, even the very uneasy one. Is every creativity art? No way,art is certainly not merely creativity: art stands above, way above that and it takes creativity in among many others elements to be considerated. But that's not subject of the theme nor of this piece (and luckely, as I couldn't do "art" in the high sense I define art...),so I will just shut up and let you enjoy this if you please. :)Hugs:)

I sooo agre with what you wrote, I feel the same when making images, and your image is expressing it so well. I came in late here, have been away, so I just agree with what is said by the others.

Sono assolutamente d'accordo,Meli. Grazie per offrirci i tuoi bellissimi disegni da contemplare (gotta agree with that). So, ehm... in the photo are you dropping the glass orb or is it just the way you're holding it?

In this situation, your postscript far exceeds your Lovely image and Poem. It would be a shame to therefore expound on that and forget about its real source! I will say this though, Creativity and the desire to express ones self is the very foundation of any ART and with out it, ART would not prevail! Bravo Meli, you always get our noodle cooking!

What a wonderful reflection of the Artist inside! Art, to me is vision and must come from the inmost workings of the artist's heart and soul to really be effective. The message "Creation is self offering", is richly defined in the view of the artist and the vivid colors and texture. I would hate to live in a World without Art. The freeness of form and medium speak to the individuals free spirit, his/her desire to move the boundaries beyond the limits again and again, and the desire to continually and actively improve and grow in the process. I think too, that Art is alway a matter of individualistic taste and may not always fall where we expect it to and is therefore hard to completely define. Excellent work Meli in the work you did on this piece and in the message!...Cheryl

very creative work - and yes, creating IS selfoffering - especially in art - in each and every piece which we create there is a part of us - and we all should respect that fact, respect others and others creations - excellent work here, and a very meaningful january theme (shame on me, i relly should take more often a look in the forums and seasonthems) - meli thanks for being you!!!

I am the opposite right now in my feelings towards posting here. I do it for more selfish reasons; to make me happy. The reason for this is that my work on this site is not expressive. Your work is expressive times 10. If I was to create a truly expressive piece I would feel quite vulnerable. I think that right now I am too rigid for that. Time will tell. :) Thanks so much for your thoughtfull expression. This piece is fabulous!

This is yet my favorite now, because of what it means and how it resonates within me. You have stated and shown so beautifully what a life of creativity can mean (many times over) and I love you for it.

Creativity is a two way street, not only do you reveal something about yourself to others when you create, but also to yourself, as a viewer of your own work. One work of creation/revelation leads to yet other works of creation/revelation and growth/learning results on both sides of that street. I fuel you/me, You fuel me/you. Excellent work Meli, and I love the textures in this image.
