Description

This is an updated version of my latest scene. I added some barrels, cross bars under the floor, cables, adjusted lighting, smoke and some other stuff. I am still not entirely satisfied with the results. I will to continue to work on this picture soon. Please let me know if you have any ideas what could be improved. :)

Really a gathering storm. You've captured the state of the art in lighting the shadow side with ambient.

Excellent work! I wish I could model even half as well as you! Since you've asked for advice, can I suggest that the DOF effect applied to the barrels is a little too strong? They look a bit off-putting blurred quite that much when they're so close to the focal character. On the other hand, the DOF effect on foreground chain etc is perfect. Maybe you could put a control panel or something (with typical sci fi coloured flashing lights!) into that corner to the guy's right. It looks a little empty there. Depending on what's happening in the scene, maybe you could also turn that room outside the door into a tight corridor, and have it bathed in red light as though a red alarm has been triggered. Might add some drama and expectancy to the scene? Just some thoughts...

You should listen to the suggestion above... add a door control panel of some sort beside the opening. In addition, what about a "general panic alarm" button on a different wall. You might also want to consider putting a few signs and notices in strategic places. This is really looking extremely good... keep 'em coming. :o)

I find the vapour from the guys' mouth a bit "shall I do it or not" Give him some breath

Perhaps. It is cigarette smoke and I didnt want to exagerate it. I will see how it looks a bit stronger. About the suggestions of Daz1971 and Moebius: I am working on a new version and it will include a computer panel, some more pipes, dirt on the warning tapes and a slightly different DOF effect in the background. Thanks for your feedback. Its really helping me getting this straight and improving the scene! Any further feedback is very much appreciated. :D

Maybe there should be someting outside except darkness. Maybe a truck getting loaded. And the Cam should get nearer i think...

Its the nightshift. Not much up and going there. The trucks will come in the morning, which means some more hours of boredom. As the focus is not necessarily the guard, but the room as well, I dont really want to zoom in much more. ;P
