Description

The dorsal view of the D-7 Battlecruiser schematic is perhaps the one that allows a better observation of the only major modification from the original design: the wing pattern. Thanks to biotech for bringing some reference materials to my attention.

Are you sure this is a D7 class battlecruiser? from the paneling and stuff, it looks more like a K't'inga class ship. Aside from this small inquiry, good job. (Obviously a 'Trekkie.')

I don't know much about the whole Star trek Universe myself. But I know the Nose and general body structure of this ship is from the Classical D-7 Battlecuirser. But I am fairly certain the engine system (the visible Warp Nacelles) are of Next Generation level design. Which would make this a; rebuild, re-mod, of the original D-7 Class. Not unlike the changes in Enterprise between the original series and the movie. (not totally up on the original series. But I have read manuals and played the Role-Playing games)

The D7 design was used in the trials and tribbleations episode of DS9, to make it less cheap looking, the model maker put the pattern on the wings, while retaining the overall look and shape of the original.

Biotech is right. The original model had very little hull features, while the revised one had only but a few alterations. Sometime in the future, Ill post the KTInga schematics and you will see the differences. :) As for why I do these schematics, there are several reasons. But mostly it have to do with improving my drawing skills (which are none) and also supply original content to my Star Trek site. And now I just cant get enough of it... ;)
