Description
Couple of notes. That's me(in the thumb pic.) with my first girlfriend in Germany. As you can tell I was mighty proud back then. I have transposed us onto the "Exodus" boat. That makes it somewhat more personal. For me that is of course. This pic is about 6 months old and I just cannot get myself to really like it for some reason even though I spent a tremendous amount of time on it. Like I'm missing something somehow somewhere. I decided to post it anyway.

I like this image. Perhaps you feel unsettled by it because of a percieved imbalance of the composition, in that the main subject matter and point of focus is in the right 2/3rds of the image with almost no compositional elements at all on the left of the image. To me that imbalance just adds to the surrealistic feel of the image.
