Description

Overexposed, I realize. I haven't seen the sun for so long it quite threw me off my game. Wanted to share this anyways, a fish carcass washed up at my recharge spot, and ended up attracting about 15 eagles. There is a definite "pecking" order, and the dominant ones readily use force to remind the others. Most end up circling, and dashing in as the chances occur. Strangely, an eagle will put the run on another eagle, but tolerate a seagull almost at it's feet. Perhaps they're letting the seagulls fatten up, in case they're lunch at a later date? Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

It's great to see eagles like this, we only see them behind wire mesh in zoos. The gulls are a pest most of the time, they just eat any crap lying around...hope the eagles get hungry later :)

it reminds me of ducks and fish fighting for bread on the Ohio river at Louisville at a river barge restaurant. very good foto considering they could of decided you would be a good lunch.

Overexposed! maybe but very slightly at that. I know what you mean the sun can catch you off guard here too. Lovely shot, I dont get to see anything like this, maybe the odd kestral or Peregrine but they are usualy too far away to make a shot. Impressive!

Very familiar. I was stationed up in Adak,Ak. and saw similar scenes. The sea otters also joined in and had their share.

Wow Jim! Not one, not two or three or four, but I am counting five Bald Eagles! (correct me if I am wrong) Dearest Jim, overexposed or not this is a wonderous shot! I do hope you took more! What was that Tedz was saying about the pecker order? And Geneb19 thinks you escaped from where with that walker??? LOL! OK I won't pick on ya much tonight! ;) Glad to see you finally got some sun, don't let that sunblock get too thin, you might get a sunburn being so white and having been so long since you saw the sun! I heard you were expecting a blizzard soon and that the spawining creek would look really great during the blizzard with the hurricane strength winds! LMAO!

there's enough emotion here to make the small trouble of the overexposition disappear.
